About Me

Marie Robinson, RN, IBCLC

FULLY VACCINATED

I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Registered Nurse. I am also the mother of four breastfed children. When you have an appointment with me,  your goals are my goals. You are the expert on your body and your baby, and I will support and help you with whatever your feeding goals may be. I offer in-home lactation consults as well as telehealth visits as an option for consults that do not necessarily require hands-on care. When you book a consult with me, you can expect an assessment of latch and feeding, having your baby weighed on a hospital-grade baby scale, suggestions and trouble-shooting for any issues you are having, and the creation of a customized feeding plan. Notes from our appointment will be forwarded to your pediatrician and any other providers as necessary. Whether you are just a few days postpartum looking for reassurance that things are going well, or you're having issues and need to get feeding back on track, I can help! I also provide prenatal lactation consultations to help answer your questions and learn what to expect when your new little one arrives.

Do you take insurance?

The only insurance plan I am in-network with is Aetna. I am contracted with The Lactation Network, a company that works with some insurance plans to provide lactation visits at no charge to the client. You can click on the button above to see if your insurance plan is covered. If not, I will provide you with a superbill with the appropriate codes that you can submit to your insurance. I don't guarantee reimbursement and don't offer refunds if your insurance doesn't reimburse. I do accept cash, checks, credit cards, and FSA/HSA cards.

Cancellation policy: If you must cancel within 24 hours of an appointment, I charge a $50 cancellation fee to your credit card on file to cover the lost time. Since I know life happens, I do offer the ability to reschedule one time within 24 hours with no fee.

Do you offer remote consultations?

I offer virtual consultations for self-pay clients and for clients approved through The Lactation Network for lactation coverage. Notably, clients with United insurance will not be approved for virtual/telehealth appointments through The Lactation Network. Please reach out to The Lactation Network for further details.

How far do you travel for home visits?

I provide home visits in a 30 mile/45 minute distance from Presque Isle, Maine. If you live beyond that distance, depending on availability I may be able to travel further for an additional fee. Office visits are not available at this time.

How should I prepare for my initial consultation?

When I visit you in your home, I will meet you where you are at. I am judgement-free and I want you to feel comfortable. To prepare for your appointment, it is helpful to have a log of feeding and diaper output for the past 24 hours. If you are using any breastfeeding tools, please have them available and ready to use.  Although certainly not necessary, if you have other young children at home you might find it easier to focus on your appointment if you have another caregiver at home to tend to them. Please also complete your intake form prior to the appointment, ideally the night before. Although I do love animals, please have pets secured in another room during our appointment.
